In the 1970’s The Buyers Guide for Comic Fandom’s Publisher took his favorite Golden Age Comics and with the assumption that the copyrights had expires began reprinting them in black and white. These were done as direct copies from the color originals so the gray tones were different than had they been done with the original pencil and ink artwork. However, Alan was a Golden Age fan and he made these stories available at a reasonable price from his Dynapubs Company.
