Newsarama is reporting on a movement to bring back the Mighty Crusaders.
I am a huge Mighty Crusaders Fan (just ask Scott).
I would like to request that everyone on this board help support that effort, and please sign the petition.

Thanks,
Rik

I just "signed" the petition. If ArchieCo does bring back their heroes I hope they don't "simplify" them. I mean they shouldn't be written or drawn like the standard Archie Comics. There is plenty of talent out there that could make a new line of heroes work. ArchieCo has the money. Wouldn't the Fly look good with art by Ron Frenz with his Kirby-style? Jerry Ordway on the Mighty Crusaders? Dan Jurgens on the Shield? How about Paul Ryan handling the Comet?

ArchieCo: your super heroes will succeed if you make the effort to support them and spend the money to hire decent editors, writers, and artists. You had the right direction with the Red Circle line but lost it quick going into the Archie Adventure Series line. Impact, while a good line, failed because they weren't the true Archie heroes. Don't be the X-Men, be the Mighty Crusaders.

Absolutely! And there are a lot of talented guys who'd love to do it! As I've mentioned in the past, I'd love to see Jerry Ordway on the Mighty Crusaders. Steve Rude would be my pick for the Fly, though I doubt ArchieCo would pay Joe Simon for the rights to his character when they have so many others.

ArchieCo also seems to have a solid relationship with Neil Adams. I'd certainly love to see some new Black Hood art out of him!

I'm in 100% agreement with you, Scott.

I rarely if ever buy new comics. But I'd start again in a second if the Crusaders return to the comic racks!

I believe they would. A true Archie Heroes revival can't be done without the Fly.

Now if the guys in hollywood were to notice the great characters that ArchieCo has. Wouldn't it be nice to see movie/tv series using the Shield? Black Hood? Or the Comet? If done right such a deal could be great for ArchieCo. A successfull movie or tv series based on their characters would be great publicity for ArchieCo. If they don't license out their characters too cheap, they would have a lot of extra income.

Frenz would be sweet! Or Steve Rude. His work has that Kirby look as well.

>Jerry Ordway on the Mighty Crusaders?

Ordway would be cool, but only if he inked his own pencils.

>Dan Jurgens on the Shield? How about Paul Ryan handling the Comet?

All good choices. I think Dave Lampham would be another great choice for a Crusaders book.

I missed out on the Crusaders back in the 60's, but I've filled in most of those wacky issues since. I really fell in love with Rich Buckler's Red Circle line back in the earliest days of the direct sale market, and I wish he'd been able to make that work they way it began. Whenever the MLJ heroes pop up over the years, I've tried to check them out.

So count me in. ,!-- s:) -->:),!-- s:) -->

I just signed the petition and I really hope Archie gives it a try. Admittedly, I'm not a big Crusaders fan but I know I would try a new Crusaders book(s) if they were published, so it would have my support.
