So did Ditko work on Fly-Girl? Or not?

According to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fly_%28Archie_Comics%29
In 1999, Joe Simon and the Kirby estate regained the rights to the character thanks to copyright termination. The termination did not affect Fly-Girl, since she was created after Simon and Kirby left the title.

But check this: http://redcirclecomics.com/2013/05/17/newsarama-spotlights-this-summers-new-crusaders-legacy/
“You’ve got the incredible artwork of Gray Morrow on The Black Hood, you’ve got the legendary Steve Ditko who lends his talents to Fly-Girl, the names go on and on,”
according to Paul Kaminski!

Personally i didn't think Ditko did any Fly-Girl stories, purely because i knew Fly-girl wasn't covered by the problems that stop Lance Strong and The Fly from appearing in Archie's comics, and this page seems to suggest that Fly-Girl didn't appear until AotF issue 13 (after Ditko left the series) (i can't check this now, as my issues are all in storage at present!) - however Ditko did most of the art for The Fly (1983) issues 2-8 did he not? If so, were there any solo Fly-Girl stories that Legacy could include within its pages? Again, my stuff's not to hand, so i can't check.

So basically, did Ditko work on Fly-Girl, and more interestingly, why then is Fly-girl not covered by this exclusion order (or whatever it's known as)? Or does this not have anything to do with it? I wish i knew what was going on with that but when i search the internet for it, there's really not much i can find!

Robert Kanigher & John Rosenberger get the credit as creators of Fly Girl. The character made its in-costume debut in ADVENTURES OF THE FLY #14 (original series, September 1961); however, Kim Brand was introduced in the previous issue.

The Captain doesn't recall any Ditko Fly Girl artwork. Perhaps he did some layouts on back-up Fly Girl stories?

Steve Ditko DID a Fly-Girl story in THE FLY #3 ....called "Faithfully Yours". Basically, a fan that is infatuated with Kim Brand and Fly-Girl appears before the story is over.

That's the only Ditko Fly-Girl story that I'm aware of.

i remember that one now! that was a particularly good one if i remember. thanks.

That must be the story they will include in Legacy in that case. Also, it sort of explains why Fly-Girl isn't considered a Simon/Ditko creation since this story would have been decades after her initial appearance. I just wish somebody had done a proper press release about the Joe Simon rights affair, this is the best thing i've found on the subject. I'd like to hear Archie's point of view though, but maybe it's not to be.
