Favourite DC Red Circle redesign so far?

Postby leonmallett » Sun Dec 20, 2009 6:11 am

We have now seen previews of the Wave 2 characters (Mr Justice, Comet, Black Hood, Jaguar and the Fox), so with thoughts of the 9 heroes shown so far who is your favourite?

Thoughts about why you voted would be fun to read.

For me the best designs are Mr Justice, Hangman and the Comet. There are flaws with each (have you noticed the 'lucky charms' incorporated into the Comet design for example?), but they are the strongest for me. I don't think there has been a bad design yet for me, but that may be just my enthusiastic bias.

What does everyone else think?

I like "THE WEB" for the uniform and I think the storyline is pretty good. I like The Fox because the uniform looks more traditional. The rest? We'll see ...

If the vote continue to not work, I'll remove it and we'll have to resort to good old fashioned discussion! :)

I am a huge fan of the Shield but I can call it a redesign, it is pretty much the same. The Web is fast becoming my favorite comic. Just based on looks, Mr. Justice came out well.

this costume is the best look for the Comet yet... although I still like mine better! :>)

The Web looks good and is a great read!

I like the Fox's look as well...

Like someone else said, all the designs have been great so far... the new Jaguar has me concerned, but only because I loved the Impact Jaguar.

And like everyone else, I'm beginning to miss the Fly and Fly Girl... :(

The Jaguar design has concerned me a little also. It is reminiscent of a feral version of the (new) Tattooed Man or the Alex Montez Eclipso with the tattoos. It may work in colour or on the page, but so far I ma not really convinced.

My favorite MLJ characters are Hangman, Black Hood and Steel Sterling.

I guess I am in the minority in that I don't really like the new Web. They shouldn't have killed the brother. It would have been more interesting to compare and contrast the ways that they serve the good and explore the definitions of 'hero,' along with maybe adding some sibling rivalry- but all that is lost because they went with the ol' dead-relative-makes-it-serious-now angle.

I'm going to like the Hangman if they do some historical stories, seeing as how he's been operating since the 1860's.
With his noose around his neck and his origin, this new Hangman could be more aptly named "The Hanged Man." They kept the black and green costume with the wide collar, which is good, but I miss the stylish fin on the head. The one-shot was kind of generic, but I'm hoping they'll do some interesting things with the character.

I wasn't thrilled with the new pic of the Black Hood, which bears little resemblance to either the classic or the Grey Morrow version. I always liked the dramatic black and yellow costume. I'd like to see him written as kind of a cross between Punisher and Batman. He's got the guns, but he also has the tech. They should keep him as a former cop who left because of corruption. The Black Hood isn't the Black Hood anymore imho, if they give him superpowers.

Waiting to see what they do with Steel Sterling and Mr. Justice.
