Of the four series spinning out of the one-shots, the Hangman was the one I looked forwards to most, but has probably been the weakest due to the episodic nature so far. It has taken five parts to start to really draw any threads together.
Guess I've been too negative, as this redesign is better than nothing- but I would rather have had the original, or 80's Red Circle, or Impact heroes. I ought to give them a chance.
I think in an ideal world they (Archie) would have published the characters themselves, with less revision and aimed at a modern audience. I think DC have just seen the redesign as a neccessary part of the the characters inclusion in the DCU (for example due to the many non-powered MLJ heroes, they may have been redundant in context of the Bat-family for example). Iin my view, it is just a shame that Archie have shown little serious interest in their (non-Riverdale) superheroes.
