COMMISSION RATES AND GUIDELINES

Hello!  Thank you for your interest in obtaining a commission from me!  I've endeavored here to create a comprehensive list of prices for commission work.  I base my prices on the size of the work, the number of characters, the complexity of layout and the estimated time it will take me to complete them.   I will strive to give you the highest quality of work that I can in exchange for a fair compensation of time spent.
I may miss something in these descriptions, so if you have a question, please let me know.

RATES-
               8 1/2 x 11" - convention sketchbook size-
                          (pencil only- one character)- $25.00
                          (pencil and ink- one character)- $50.00
                          (add another character)   - $25.00(each character)
                           (add color or grey tone)   - $25.00 (total for pencil, ink and color for 2 characters- $100.00)

             10 x 15" - standard comic book original art size-
                          (pencil only)-  $75.00
                          (pencil and ink)- $150.00
                          (add another character) - $25.00 each character
                          (add color or grey tone)   - $50.00 (Total for pencil, ink and color for 2 characters- $225.00)

             14 x 17" - poster size-
                          (pencil only)- $100.00
                          (pencil and ink)- $200.00
                          (add color or grey tone) - $100.00   (Total for pencil, ink and color)- $300.00
   (for this size, the price is the same for one character or numerous characters)

Simple backgrounds will be put in as a matter of course, unless you request no background.  Of course, if you request a really challenging and complex background, that would have to be factored into the total cost, and will be different in each case.

I do small, thumbnail sized sketches of my pieces that I will e-mail
to you for approval before going to the final piece.

GUIDELINES- I'm mostly known for doing commissions in the classic silver age Marvel style, but I enjoy doing as many different styles as possible.  If I'm not familiar with a character or title, just e-mail me some reference material.  Some things I won't do include nudes or themes that are sexual in nature and I also am not interested in doing anything with extreme blood and gore in it, or anything that glorifies evil.  Call me a prude or old-fashioned, but that's my guidelines, and I'm stickin' to 'em!  Actually, I'm a father of 4 children, and have made a promise to never work on anything that I wouldn't show my kids.  Tame cheesecake pictures and wild Kirbyesque action is fine- in fact, that's what I like to do.  I'm just talking about "EXTREME requests" here.  Gotta cover all the bases!
